We understand that there is no disconnect between the mind and the body, and there is no such thing as “just pulled muscle“, or “just a sprain”. The nerves, muscles, and joints are a unit and cannot be functionally distinguished.
For example, when people come to us for a chronic low back complaint, we don’t just look to the low back. We looked to the neck to see if there is interference above stream affecting the brain’s ability to control the muscles in the low back. We look at the function and structure of the back and pelvis to see what patterns might be causing additional stress to the low back. We educate our patients how tightness is or weaknesses elsewhere in the body may be contributing, and what activities may be used to correct it.
We empower our patients with knowledge and tools to help them decide what’s appropriate for their health journey.
